Sir William relishes his role as a cat defender and proponent. He often hosts "salon events" at the guest parlor in his family's London home to talk about cats. Discussions often include the public's positive and negative perceptions of cats and how to improve the cat's sometimes poor reputation with some people. Afternoon tea, coffee, biscuits and other treats are usually served promptly at 4 p.m. to his many frequent guests.
